Pastoral Ministry

The members of the early Christian church looked out for one another, sharing their possessions and food with one another as they had need. Seven helpers, including Stephen, were set aside to look after the needy amongst them while others went out and preached the message. These helpers were “full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom” (Acts chapter 6, verse 3). Stephen is thought to be the first martyr to die for his faith in Jesus.

We seek to model the care we provide for members of our church family on the example set by Stephen and his co-workers. The Women of Faith fellowship work alongside the Ministers of Edmonton Baptist Church to provide Pastoral care to members of our Church Family.

Pastoral care includes visiting individuals who may be unable to leave their homes, and those in hospital. Practical help is also offered, such as helping with grocery shopping if required. We pray and offer encouragement and support. Arrangements can also be made for members to be given Communion at home.

Contact us if you or someone you know needs support.

So then, as often as we have the chance, we should do good to everyone, and especially to those who belong to our family in the faith. (Galatians chapter 6, verse 10)
