"You should each give, then, as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly. And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause. As the scripture says, "He gives generously to the needy; his kindness lasts forever" 2 Corinthians, chapter 9, verses 7 to 9

The giving of our time, our talents and our money is all part of giving back to God what he has given to us. He expects us to be good stewards of these gifts and use them in ways which will build up his Kingdom, both in the here and now, and for the day that he returns.

Edmonton Baptist Church is not a club for the benefit of its members but is a body of people who seek to follow Jesus’ command, to tell everyone about him, and to serve those in need. The church has no central funding from the wider Baptist organisation, but is totally self-sufficient, having to cover the cost of salaries, premises, administration, and other outgoings from donations. We also donate 10% of our annual income towards various mission causes, in the UK and in other parts of the world.

Regular, committed giving, from church members and regular attenders, however much or little, helps the church to manage its finances and meet commitments.

Standing Order and Gift Aid

For those who are able, we would encourage giving by Standing Order. A regular offering can also help you manage your own finances as well.

If you pay UK income tax, then you can increase the value of your donation to the church by 25% through Gift Aid. This means that for every £10 you give we can claim back an extra £2.50 from the Government. If you wish to give by Standing Order, or to Gift Aid your donations, contact the church office and ask for a form.
